Pancakes and Bears

It's the Monday after Thanksgiving.
A dreary day, occasionally raining, sprinkling or drifting snowflakes.
But mostly rain. And slush. Blah.

It's when the new trimester of classes start at school. Which means adjusting my schedule accordingly to accommodate Youngest Child's new schedule.

I decided over the weekend that I really need to start doing yoga on a regular basis again. I'm on a streak of four days in a row now. Woohoo!

I got up at 6:30, partly due to my phone alarm, but mostly due to the persistence of the cat.

Hobbled my way downstairs, checked the stove, used the bathroom, and put on some sweats.
And rolled out my yoga mat. I chose a short 15 minute video focusing on neck and shoulders.
Took Freddi dog outside so she could do her thing, and let the chickens out.

Back inside where I started my oatmeal for breakfast and made chocolate chip pancakes for Youngest Child. Bam! Just like that. I wish I always had my shit together in the morning, because it is such a good feeling when I do.

Drove Youngest Child to school and then took Freddi Dog to the bike path for our long walk.
Which ended up being a relatively short 20 minutes. It was spitting rain the entire time, but it was the fresh bear prints that really did it for Freddi who decided that that was the point we needed to turn around and go back to the car.

Which was fine with me since I was also a little nervous about getting back in time to retrieve Youngest Child from school.

So here I sit with a snoozy dog on the couch, watching the news and weather before I jump back into my car.

After classes are done for the day I have a couple of phone calls to make and then on to the usual domestic servitude of dishes and laundry.

And perhaps a little time on the couch to read.
