We Just Are

I stayed up way too late last night playing Jackbox with the family.

I woke up with a drippy nose, itchy eyes and post nasal drip.

But the morning held a certain lure of promise.

The sun was shining and predicted to be pleasantly warm.

Freddi happily jumped into the backseat after I had managed to locate my sneakers and some pants.

Brief stop at Bentley's for an Iced Mocha Raspberry Latte with Oat Milk (or my fancy French coffee drink as Jonas calls it) and a Breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon (a rare splurge because I woke up starving).

There is something about stepping out on the trail early in the morning on a beautiful sunny day.
I feel calm and at peace for that brief window of time.
I can temporarily let it all go. Because there's nothing I can do about the dishes, or missed e-mails when I'm in the middle of nowhere.

There is no should be doing.
We just are.
Freddi. Myself.
And anyone else we might encounter on the trail.
