Tuesday
It's evening now, not quite 8:00, and I'm counting the minutes until I can make my hot cocoa, brush my teeth and go to bed.
It's been a long day, and the time change. It's dark at 5:30. Ugh.
No class this morning, but Youngest Child had a Physical Therapy appointment at 10:30 appointment. The usual two hour head start to get out the door. Hopefully on time.
6:00 a.m. I slowly wake up and notice that it isn't quite daylight yet. But the cat is circling, prowling, and scratching. Demanding to be fed. I do my normal step step, step step, step step, down the stairs in my old person shuffle kind of way.
I stumble around downstairs, checking the stove, going pee, removing my bite guard. And then it's snuggle time on the couch with my dog. Just 30 minutes I tell myself as I pop my earbuds into my ears and cue up a podcast. 30 minutes I sigh as I pull the blanket up around my shoulders.
And then it's 7:30, NOT 30 minutes later, but still doable.
Chickens let out, dog walked. Oatmeal cooked and decaf iced coffee prepared.
8:00 I wake Youngest Child up. Put french fries in the oven for his breakfast. 8:15 I go back upstairs to wake YC again. Grab some clean clothes for after my shower.
Shower.
Check on the fries.
And from that moment until I finally get YC in the car (five minutes late) it is a constant stream of nudging him along. Which includes my retrieving shoes and socks for him. Putting on said shoes and socks after putting ointment on his big eczema patches on his feet, etc.
After PT, which includes a hot towel wrap and massage to loosen the tight muscles in his legs (of which I am more than a little jealous of) it's to the pizza joint to place a to go order.
Home to eat lunch, check some e-mails and make a phone call.
2:30 I finally get out the door to take the dog to the bike path for a walk. I made the mistake of parking at the beach. It was annoyingly busy.
3:30 sitting on a dear friends porch, with my friend (and my dog) for a quick in person visit.
Home again. Dishes, laundry. Start dinner.
And by 8:30 I'm nodding off on the couch.
By 9:30 I'm brushing teeth and going to bed. Bracing myself to do it all over again tomorrow.
